Together We're Building a Better Tomorrow
In 2000, BICC gathered the first round of listening interviews and found that 40% of the respondents indicated their greatest concern for our community was the lack of unity—disunity. During the follow-up research it was discovered that the disunity they referred to fell into three categories: denominationalism, racism and socioeconomic classism.
In an effort to have a unified voice in addressing these issues it was felt that BICC should develop scriptural position papers in each category. An ethnically and ecumenically diverse group of representatives in BICC wrote the following papers. They were approved and put forth as BICC’s “position” on these issues.
